Re: The Tory Party Thread

Wave goodbye to your right to a say in what’s built in your local area -- if Dominic Cummings gets his way. We’ve got just weeks to stop him. He's working on a plan to rip up the rules for new buildings in England -- and replace it with a US style scheme. It could fill neighbourhoods with shoddy fl...

Re: The Labour Party

Christopher Chope, the Christchurch MP that voted for Brexit and against the upskirting bill a year or two ago opposed the merger of councils as Christchurch council had a healthy bank balance and the other two were in debt. Christchurch had it's cash reserves swallowed up by the debt of the other t...

Re: The Labour Party

I live in a Tory stronghold and voting has always been a waste of time really, but now they have redrawn the boundaries of Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch things may change https://www.advertiserandtimes.co.uk/no-confidence-vote-bcp-council Even though the Tories tried to vote out the new coalit...

I have never seen the point of spoiling a ballot as it has the same effect as not voting. Save yourself the time and just don't bother. I would only spoil a ballot if they brought in compulsory voting which I have always been against until the last few years. Spoiling or not voting is effectively a...

Re: Leaving the forum

Of course there's nothing wrong with feeling something for someone you have never met. It's more the fact the she was killed by a stalker decades ago. How is saying he wants to be with her healthy? It's suicidal ideation.

Re: Leaving the forum

Can someone who speaks to Maxil please advise him to go to a GP as well as a therapist. I don't know if he already has, but he is reminding me a lot of a friend I had who was schizophrenic. I am not saying Maxil is, but his depression could be symptomatic of something else. I also know someone else...

Re: Leaving the forum

How sad. Maxil joined the forum not long after I did. Your contributions will be missed. I hope you get the help you need soon and feel able to return when you can. Not sure what else to say right now.

Re: The never cruel, never cowardly Fitzroy crowd

Why? Given the fact that Holmes was known all over the world and Doctor Who was really only known in the UK, the situation seems utterly bizarre. Doctor Who was one of the BBC's biggest sellers in the sixties, a bit less so in the seventies. I can't speak about Sherlock, but if you want to know mor...
