Re: What Doctor who DVDs are you watching today?

Wasn't the perceived bad reception that Gunfighters got at the time meant to be what persuaded the programme makers to abandon the historical adventures previously such a staple part of the show's formula? Ironic that many of them now seem to offer a refreshing change from the science fiction adven...

Re: What is a cinematic universe?

Godzilla actually has several. The First, most often callers the Showa era, consistes of all Togo’s monster movies between the 1954 Gojira and 1975 Terror of Mechagodzilla. This included movies such as Rodan, Mothra, Frankenstein vs Baragon, Space Amoeba and Varan the Unbelievable. You then have the...

Re: What are you watching on DVD?

Other then Doctor Who, me and the Girlfriend watched the film long pilot episode for the 1978 Incredible Hulk tv series. Didn’t know what to expect on this one one as outside of the old Superman Movies and Adam West Batman, the old live action super hero works I’ve seen before are not very good. Cap...

Re: What Doctor who DVDs are you watching today?

Just finished The Gunfighters, if me and my girlfriend ever hear that fucking “Last Chance Saloon” song again we’ll put our fists through the screen. Dodo is also really getting our tits now. Other then that it was ok. Pretty average western fair, with a few really good bits of comedy. Terrible acce...

NuWho made the Time War so mundane.

During Fatheads run the show the time war was, from the perspective of someone who once bought into this crap, a conflict of epic proportions. It sounded like the kind of stuff that was written during the wilderness years, like Faction Paradox. But as time when on, it not only got more mundane but a...

Re: What Doctor who DVDs are you watching today?

Watched the Celestial Toymaker reconstruction yesterday. As with the pure audio version, the story sadly looses out because it’s a very visual one. You can’t as accurately recreate the tension it’s trying to convey without proper visuals. That said I story love the story and Michael Gough is superb ...

Re: The Timeless Children's Plotholes

Also even if the BBC force Chinballs to change the his direction for the show, I still will never watch any of Jodies era and my time here has pretty much taught me to forsake Nuwho all together. Even if the Doctor is not the timeless child, everything else the episode introduces is just as harmful ...

Re: The Timeless Children's Plotholes

Found this thread today. https://www.reddit.com/r/doctorwho/comments/hpqpni/why_the_timeless_child_makes_no_sense/ Chinballs and Anti-Doctor fans really get touchy about criticism don’t they? My favourite part is the idea that it’s only a small majority that says the Timeless Child sucks. Oh the iro...

Re: Introducing...The Lumiat (Spoilers For Big Finish's Missy)

To quote the late Richard Adams "Good lord, I could write better then that myself." Putting aside just how terrible the character is anyway, her death at the hands of Simm was logical end to for Missy. Her character arc is complete and in nuwho fashion undoes everything to maintain the statuesque of...

Re: What Doctor who DVDs are you watching today?

Just watching Ark. I have to say that so far it's a pretty good episode. Not great but good. I think this is the first time the shows ever done a story where the characters jump about in time see how things change in the future. this is also the first time I've seen the old, eyeball in the mouth tri...
