Hive history.

Can you lot tell me what happened before the Hive? I only started lurking when Season Four of Nu-Who ended(I saw it mentioned on the comments page of Otaking's New Who vs Old Who video).

Can you give me a lowdown on Hive history before that? :)

Rob, B, or the Seal are probably the best people to answer this, but i think a fair few of us started out on the old BBCi Dr Who boards about 10yrs ago.
They went tits up in 2004, and most of us ended up the Proboards forums DW2005, and Logopolis Metropolis.
LM still exists, but most of the old crowd then went onto Redux, which was the original anarchic format. I personally didn't join Redux, but i eventually found my way back to The Leisure Hive 2yrs ago.

I think this is one for Rob.

Pretty much as Wayne says, a lot of us all started out on the BBCi board back in the days of the McGann/Canon wars when the revival of the series was first announced, the board was an absolute bear pit and riddled with trolls and vendettas and the mods there had absolutely no control what so ever.

Once the board went tits up, most went to Proboards such as DW2005 until the admin went crazy with a napaleonic complex, he banned one half of the community and the other half all getting pissed off with the modding there all exodused to Logopolis Metropolis where the moderation was initially quite more open and fair minded, however was still a presence there (numorous forum wars took place there and you still couldn't swear on the board, but there was still plenty of funny drama there all the same)

That went tits up and Redux was born which was a kind of updated attempt to re-live the trollish anarchy of the old bbci boards, hence why moderation was generally frowned upon and resisted as much as humanly possible and swearing was allowed and people could slag the new series off without fear of censorship or moderation as often was the case on most Doctor Who boards..

That went tits up so The Leisure Hive was born and the rest you know.

Ah, a nice stroll down memory lane there. Have we really been together that long?

Hello everyone, my name is Z-one_member. I have travelled back in time to stop a catastrophe form destroying the Hive.

I come from a time where the Hive has transformed into a furry porn fest and is moderated by Sadako and Mumbles. Mike has been cast out and though Seal fought bravely, he eventually got bored and went home.

The future I come from is bleak. The Hive is nearing it's end and has become a barren wasteland, except for Spambots.

All this is because of one member, a member who would not accept that NU WHO is utter pants. I have come from the future to destroy them and thus save our forum.
I am not one who was born in the possession of knowledge; I am one who is fond of antiquity, and earnest in seeking it there.

I have fond memories of LM and a massive continuity thread with Rob and Baysan Tulu. Oh, and the flatus thread.

Baysan. What a legend. His scoring in all the polls was brilliant. Only the doggest of stories got 9.5/10 instead of the full 10.
Wonder where he is now.
