Revelation of the Daleks - one of my all time faves, a definite classic with excellent if rather nasty characters and an occasionally darkly humorous but always atmospheric quality. It looks very moody throughout and, with Davros back to his best here, it's overall a standout story from Colin's time.

The Two Doctors - I love Patrick's swansong for its strongly menacing atmosphere and some effectively bizarre touches to relish. Great new characters here, especially the wicked and lusty Shockeye, and it's nice to see the Sontarans - and Jamie - back again while Peri looks naturally delicious in the Spanish sunshine.

Attack of the Cybermen - a slightly mixed bag which starts well enough with the sinister sewer scenes but loses its way somewhat once the action shifts to Telos. Plenty to enjoy though and it could surely have made a better inaugural adventure for Colin than Twin Dilemma did.

Mark of the Rani - benefits from introducing Kate O'Mara's splendid new villain (a credible female Time Lady villain to boot!) and there's some decent location footage. The idea of the Rani and the Master teaming up in an uneasy alliance to defeat the Doctor works quite well so it's just a pity we never got to see them reunited in the ambitious-sounding but cancelled Auton story planned for the following season (thanks for that, Grade you tosser).

Vengeance on Varos - I liked Sil as he's a new and memorably monstrous villain and I also appreciated some of the dystopian concepts of this story. There are indeed some effective moments but unfortunately there's some patches of tedium along the way in this story too.

The Trial of a Time Lord - a long and winding mix of good, bad and ugly as bits of each segment work well enough but too many other bits just don't work at all. Another problem is the best bits tend to be reminiscent of better stories from the show's past. For instance I'd say The Ultimate Foe segment (perhaps the best part of Trial) is good but still not as good as similar sequences from The Deadly Assassin. So it all ends up a sad finale to Colin's prematurely curtailed era. On the plus side, Michael Jayston is great as The Valeyard as is (albeit briefly) Geoffrey Hughes whose contribution means that technically the Doctor has been portrayed by Eddie Yeats from Coronation Street!

The Twin Dilemma - a shockingly naff story particularly after the stone cold classic Caves of Androzani. There is some potentially interesting stuff, and it's indeed great to see veteran Maurice Denham gracing the series, plus we get a truly full-blooded debut from Colin Baker whose performance here I thought has been rather unfairly underrated. But the relentless overall campness and some cringeworthy acting by the 'twins' really let things down throughout.

Timelash - a pointless drag - why pretend it's a sequel to a non-existent Jon Pertwee tale? And we'd already had a story effectively explaining the Loch Ness Monster back in Tom Baker's day! For an era supposedly obsessed with continuity, care seems noticeably lacking in this one. There's way too much tatty tinsel on display and (to be perfectly frank, Herbert) H. G. Wells deserved rather better.
